another brush with death

Marie is The current mood of canadianbabs@yahoo.com at www.imood.com

so, carina and i nearly missed the train yesterday. and really, i just nearly missed a different one... i'll explain.

we were walking to the train station; carina, stefan, and i. all of a sudden, the traffic barrier-thing started blinking and coming down to block off cars. we started running to the street, and carina did NOT want to miss the train because we'd miss the circus. so, she said we'd have to climb over the fence and race to the station. this is something i'd never do myself, because i'm not a person to voluntarily endanger my life (except for extreme sports, i'd do that in a heartbeat). but, she wasn't going to take no for an answer so i climbed over, took the baby, and we hoisted the stroller over the fence together. we got on this (approximately) 1.5 foot-wide walkway, and made our way to the station. there were train tracks on either side of us, and i could hear the train coming from behind. i didn't know which side it was coming from though, and i didn't want to turn around and look because it would scare the shit out of me and i'd probably freak out. so i just kept on walking... the train whistle blew, and WHOOOSH, it flew by my right side. the suction was unbelievable, and i moved away from it. i swear, if i'd have been another 6 inches to the right, i would probably have been dead. a lady came over and told us off.

it played over and over in my head the whole day, and i'm secretly pissed off at carina for making me do it. i now hate cars AND trains. and this is a story my dad will never hear.

but we got to the circus, and our 20 franc tickets (as opposed to the *good* 50 franc ones) got us the crappiest seats in the big top, so taking pictures was useless. and frankly, the show was quite boring... besides, i don't know swiss-german.

today, christoph's still at work and we've just been bumming around the house. i think we're going into the city later (or maybe not) to buy presents for the wedding. i have no idea what i'm going to do because i have almost no money left and i wouldn't know what to get anyway. the wedding's on saturday, and i think we leave tomorrow for the drive to germany.

so i guess that means no more internet for a few days... yuck. but i finally went and ordered bif's very first cd, the original release. 30 bucks for four songs and a poem. blah.

and i'm practically on the verge of shitting my pants thinking of all the money i owe my funding agency. this is NOT pretty.

I'm wearing: tee, cargo jeans, ladybug socks
I'm listening to: stefan whining
I'm thinking: damn these cramps
